Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province Visited Irish Fujian Business Association, Fujian Irish Association and Overseas Chinese Service Center (Dublin)

Mr. YE Kangyong, inspector of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province, led his team to Dublin on October 18th, 2016. They visited Dublin and Cork in full stride wtihin less than 4 days. Mr. YU Hongbin, chief office administrator of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province and Ms CHEN Mingli, vice chief office administrator of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province were also in the delegation. As Ireland was the first stop of the delegation’s visit of Europe, Mr. YE Kangyong and his team put a lot focus on Irish culture and folk traditions. Besides, they actively visited several enterprises which was founded by Fujian-origin overseas, including Easy2Go logistics, Henghui Supermarket and Fone Connection. The delegation held cordial talks with overseas Chinese in Ireland. Also, Chinese community gave delegation a warm welcome.

On October 18th, Mr. YE Kangyong visited the Irish Fujian Business Association and Overseas Chinese Service Center (Dublin) in the afternoon and had conversations with the representatives of these two organizations. Mr. Ye patiently asked about the business of several enterprises, such as Easy2Go, Super Asia Foods and Puyuan Capital. The President of the Irish Fujian Business Association and director of the Overseas Chinese Service Center (Dublin), Mr. YANG Zunhai, introduced the two organizations’ history, development and status quo to the delegation. The inspector, Mr. YE Kangyong spoke highly of the Irish Fujian Business Association and the Overseas Chinese Service Center (Dublin). More than 60 people, including Mr. YANG Zunhai, the President of Irish Fujian Business Association, Mr. XUE Xing, the President of Chinese Restaurant Association of Ireland, Mr. SU Peixin, the Principal of Chinese Language School of Overseas Chinese Service Center (Dublin) and the representatives of Fujian Irish Association attend the anniversary ceremony. The “Regulation” stipulated the following rules: overseas Chinese has right to participate in the election in the area where they originally resides, as long as the person is staying in China during the National People’s Congress Elections; overseas Chinese may attend the National People’s Congress Elects at or above the level of county; The candidate of overseas Chinese shall be executed according to the relevant rules; provinces, districts and counties may invite overseas Chinese to serve as special members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); the CPPCC at or above the county level may invite the overseas Chinese to attend the meeting.

At the same time, the new regulations clarified the identification of overseas Chinese. Passport has the same identification effect with ID card. Passport is an ID, which is a legal identification in terms of handling as finance, education, medical treatment, transportation, telecommunications, social insurance and property registration issues.
